We are a family of 4, kids aged 9 and 11 and this was our 8th Eurocamp holiday and 7th time at this particular resort. We stayed in a 3 bedroom Classic comfort.
Les Mouettes side has its own entrance/exit, is on the same side of the main road as all the amenities i.e. clubhouse, pool etc, kids club etc.
Pros: Quieter - this was the main reason for booking this side as I booked in 2020 for 2021 and then postponed it - I was thinking ahead and considered that having more "space" from others would be beneficial if Covid restrictions were still in place. It was certainly quieter from all the other pitches we have had (and we have now stayed in almost every quarter of the park). But that doesn't mean it was quiet. I liked that our pitch overlooked fields and at night we could barely hear the loud music. It also had another pool which was my favourite spot. Could always get a sunlounger and the pool was just more chilled and my kids liked that they had more space for inflatables. The pool also has a toddler pool - there are no toilets or facilities and no lifeguard. In fact we never saw a single member of staff at the pool yet despite this there was also no rubbish and it was clean. I'd say the pitches are slightly bigger. If you going with multiple families might be a good idea to book this side as you are almost guaranteed to be close to one another - this park is enormous now so would perhaps be good to know you would be fairly close together even if not next to one another.
Cons - You are quite far from the main clubhouse/pool. We were happy with the walk as we didnt feel the need to race to the pool every morning. I would recommend having scooters/bikes as this mitigates this issue if kids tire and fuss about the distance back to caravan. Being far from the main area also meant my kids didnt really meet a lot of other children and couldn't just go off to the main park - but then that was the original reason when I booked.
General review of the park is that we still had a fantastic holiday and love Le Clarys Plage. We have booked our final visit next year with friends. We always chose a Classic caravan as I feel this is enough - we are hardly in the caravan and to be honest and to state the obvious - the holiday is of a much greater value of money when the budget isnt blown on what we feel is unneccessary luxuries on what is in fact a "camping style" holiday. That said - the fancier ones do look nice and the caravan we had this time needed some TLC (internal decking door panel was hanging off, radiators were dirty, I had to clean ALL of the blinds, they have removed the bug blinds so you can't open windows at night as you get too many bugs, we were missing basic utensils like corkscrew and bread knife!!!! - which is what you def need in France).
What you have access to - the main pool, park, slides, entertainment and locality all still make this a 5 star Eurocamp resort for me. There isn't anything Id want more - however, it's the details that were missing and some of the relaxation of the standards have made me drop this review down to a 3-4. It bothers me to even remove one point as I am returning, but I must be honest. They now let you buy food pool side. People have criticised the resort in the past for not allowing food poolside but OMG what a difference and for all the wrong reasons. I despaired as I looked around and rubbish bins were overflowing every single day, cups, wrappers, bits of food were littered about. One day I even scooped out a bitesize piece of pizza from the pool. Lifeguards or staff do not appear to often pick up throughout the day so its a real shame that people (residents and staff) don't keep it nice.
Otherwise loved it, kids loved it and I would recommend to all families!

This was a great combination, the kids loved the pool because the slides were very accessible with no queues and it was rarely very crowded. Getting drinks was easy enough though at night the queues were quite long with only one or two bar staff.
Location was excellent within 5 mins walk of a beach with great waves for body boarding and smishi.
The cabin, Comfort Vista, was big enough despite me not thinking it would be when we first arrived. Shower pressure was good. We spent many evenings barbecuing. Only spent a couple of nights at the entertainment but we didn't go on this holiday for that.
Not 5 stars only because of the queueing, no toilet seat at the swimming pool toilet and cabin didn't have sun and wasn't absolutely top quality.

We booked this campsite last year, when it had great reviews but didn’t get to travel until this year (covid) when the ratings have taken a nosedive. We are quite an optimistic family and knew we’d make the best of our holiday regardless. We have 4 kids, aged 14, 9, 6 and 3.

We absolutely loved our holiday!!
The campsite is great, pool areas are amazing. Pool activities on every morning. Our kids loved the slides and splash pad area. We were situated across the main road (which can be busy!) but that didn’t bother us, we aren’t ones for letting the children go far without us so they wouldn’t have been going over to the entertainment without us anyway. If you want your kids to have some independence I would def ask for main area to avoid crossing the road. There are 3 play parks.. which we frequented quite a bit. They are scattered throughout the site but we didn’t mind a walk around for a change. On-site icecream is delicious! There is entertainment every night, some better than others. People have previously complained about the amount of ‘French’ language during the entertainment, ok maybe they could incorporate a little more English, but they try and do say a few words here and there. Our children were able to keep up and play along. You are in France, embrace a little French!!
As per previous reviews - we didn’t get any ‘hassle’ from the lifeguards, or the bar manager. Didn’t stand in any long queues for food or drink. You can see the site have made adjustments, they give you a buzzer to wait for food, and if they are struggling they don’t take your order, but will ask you to come back at a certain time.
There was a heatwave during our stay, it was VERY warm. The site had provided a fan, which was helpful, although air con would have great, we knew before we left we wouldn’t have it, so can’t complain! Our children didn’t attend any of the day time kids clubs, so can’t comment on them. They made friends in the 2 neighbouring caravans and spent a lot of time in the pool playing due to the heat (it was over 35 for nearly a week). The sun was still shining strong at 8 and 9pm, still in the 30’s, which made the evening entertainment a struggle at times, but no fault of the site!
The local area is great, the beach is only a short distance away, 5 mins walk. There is a great Super U supermarket which will provide you with nearly everything you need. A few restaurants, icecream shops, arcades and tourist shops along the way. We have stayed at remote campsites before, so this was a treat for us.
Overall, I would definitely return to this site. Great trip all round. Don’t listen to the Negative Nellies.. embrace France and enjoy yourself!
