Camping Club Les Tamaris is one of the top campsites near Le Barcarès in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is an ideal family campsite with many facilities. Les Tamaris is located in a wooded area and only 2 km from the beach away. Les Tamaris has a 2,000 m² water park which includes an outdoor swimming pool, a banana slide, a paddling pool, fountains, a balneotherapy area, geysers and hydromassage. If you want to escape from the daily routine, you can also use the outdoor sports hall or to the sports field. For the children there are 2 playgrounds and an inflatable bouncy castle. There is a children's club and in the summer months they offer a teenager's club which provides an exciting change for the kids. There are some lovely cycle routes along the coast, the campsite team can give you the best tips.

The kids park is great and the water slides the best I've seen outside of a waterpark.
However, the pool is very, very crowded and understaffed. Teenagers, adults and toddlers throw themselves down the slides, which are really, really fast, no one stops them going two or three at a time, makes sure they exit the plunge pool, and worst, no one makes sure some idiot doesn't come straight down after you or into the back of a 3 year old in armbands. Sooner or later a disaster will happen: elsewhere people have been left paralysed by such actions. The lifeguards are not observant.
The entertainment crew are the pits. Basically the plan is to play music so loud that the crockery in the caravans rattles and shout "toute le monde", "yeah yeah yeah" and "put your hands in the air" over the same songs. Pool party and aquagym in the afternoons and on the stage at night, all the same. Same playlist, same shaking of the walls, same choreography to the same songs. Call it a foam party or a white party or a grand espactacle, always the same. Bonus points if you predict at what point in the show they will climb the scaffold and fist pump the air. - If you're near the pool/stage forget watching a film or listening to your music or having an early night (or putting a little one to bed before midnight).
The archery is only over 14s, the quiet pool over 18s and the crazy golf is badly installed prefab concrete that makes it a random waste of time due to unpredictable slopes and joints (the one in town is great though).
I'm glad our kids are old enough to hold their own against the teens in the pool and to stay up late, not sure I'd be happy with it if they were under 5s.
All in all, its not a bad place, you'll have a good time, but we've experienced much much better campsites, so why not give one of their competitors (who hopefully put a bit more effort in) a chance instead.
Overal very good

We liked the adult pool (much quieter than the main pool), the camp is clean and well equipped, the bungalow is top notch, fully furnished with compulsory air conditioning. But unfortunately, no possibility to do a classic barbecue (fire precaution).
The activities offered within the camp are enough to fill the non-visit's days of non-visit and we quite had appreciate the evening shows.
It is quite a windy area, welcome when walking around with temperature over 30 degrees, but less when you are on the beach, the flying sand can be disturbing.
And about the left-only pass reader, ditto for car parks and motorway tolls, we should keep in mind that this is not the UK (I'm not sure all of our premises are double equipped for continental travelers?)
Overall very good

Lots of small children, being reckless on the slides, crashing into people and strong smell of wee in places. Lifeguards seemed more interested in telling people off for not wearing Speedos, wrong length sun tops, modesty shorts (daughter) - one dad letting his kids swim in the slide exit pool. Also not always on duty. WIFI is truly pants - I did not mind bar when I needed to checking banking holiday money - early teenager children not happy as very poor when they wanted to chill out.
Great bits - lovely accommodation - air con and dishwasher. Pool and slides - terrified the heck out of me (50 year old Dad but kids loved it). Up the road on way out 5 minutes - great boulangerie and InterMarche. 15 minutes away huge Carrefore and Decathlon (Speedos for 4 Euros - not open Sunday). Beach short drive. Cathar Castles - an hour away. North Salles castle 20 - 30 minutes... Highlight - Foam Party. Friendly staff. Basic menu restaurant and takeaway. Alcohol - beer - can be expensive.
/ 7 Nights
