The 3 star campsite Les Plages de l'Ain is located in a very beautiful wooded area and is about 30 km away from the city of Lyon. The campsite is located on the banks of the river Ain. The river is perfect for swimming, playing, fishing or canoeing. As a starting point for walks, cycling tours or excursions in the surrounding area, the location of the campsite is almost perfect. You can visit for example Lyon or the medieval town of Pérouges.

Small campsite that has cottage type camper rentals too. Very basic amenities but spotlessly clean. Separate showers for men and women, bathrooms are all co ed, which is pretty typical for continental Europe. Pool which we never used as the river is right next to the campsite. The site was very well sign posted, so even though the gps got us to the town getting to the camp site was easy. We were met by the manager. Though I checked comments on TripAdvisor who said that he wad not polite, I disagree he was polite and helpful, and unlike other staff he was everywhere, morni...show more

We stayed at the camping for 10 days in an modern mobile home. We had a terrace and a lovely green backyard. Althought the mobile home was low on equipment (2 knives, 2 spoons etc...) would love to have had some more, and a water boiler. Also the micro wave was a bit out of place.
