About half an hour from the Ijsselmeer, Amsterdam and Alkmaar, you will reach Resort De Rijp. The sunny grounds are situated on an idyllic waterway. Children will love the indoor playground, the many play areas and the open-air petting zoo. The whole family enjoys time in the indoor or outdoor swimming pool. Families can go on long cycling tours in the mostly flat polder landscape, which is rich in woods and water. There is also a tennis court on site. Golfers will find well-maintained greens near the De Rijp resort.
In this Dutch “picture-book town” you will discover magnificent patrician houses, windmills and Rudi Carrell Square. The showmaster, who is also popular in Germany, was born here. Alkmaar also has a beer museum, and you can take canal trips through narrow canals – as well as in nearby Amsterdam. The Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the NEMO Science Centre and the zoo await visitors there. Another worthwhile excursion from Resort De Rijp is to De Zaanse Schans, 15 kilometres away. In the historic residential and working district you can marvel at functional mills and exhibitions.
