Campsites with dog

Your four-legged friend is part of the family, isn't he? Then he also has to come along on the camping holiday. After all, holidaymakers on four paws love exactly what human camping fans love: Lots of nature, fresh air and space to discover new things. And to enjoy a lot of time with their pack, pardon me, with their family. No wonder that many campsites are geared towards dogs and their masters and mistresses. There are dog showers, extra areas for relaxed walks where (dog) friendships are quickly made - and especially large pitches. This means that your dog, which usually has to be kept on a leash at the campsite, also has a pleasant range of movement in front of your accommodation. Shady pitches are also important, of course, as are campsites with dispensers for free dog waste bags.

Some larger campsites with dogs also divide their space - into areas with and without four-legged friends

This has the advantage that the interests of dog owners and the wishes of guests who are not quite so dog-loving do not collide. Because families with dogs on camping holidays increasingly want to book rental accommodation, there is a lot happening here too: not only ready-built bungalow tents for rent, but also modern mobile homes where you can bring your Bello, Jockel, Emmi or Trixie. Often campsite operators or tour operators have subdivided their mobile home "fleet": In some, occupancy with dogs is allowed, in others not. This way you can enjoy your holiday with a dog on the campsite. Other guests, who may be allergic to dog hair, can book mobile homes that are and were guaranteed dog-free. The latest highlight: the first mobile homes with a dog run have already been spotted. It can be locked with a gate so that you don't have to keep your pet on a leash all the time. Through a small door, the dog can go into the air-conditioned interior if it gets too hot outside - or come outside to the veranda to chill together...

If you love your dog, you'll surely want to go swimming with him, won't you?

Many campsites are prepared for that too - with extra dog beaches. Recently, a large campsite on the Italian Adriatic coast even has a dog pool. Your water-loving Labrador or Retriever is sure to jump in enthusiastically. And if he's too wild - there are dog trainers and schools there too! When you go on holiday, please remember to bring the current vaccination and pet passport for your furry darling, which is valid throughout Europe. Please also take a look at the detailed information on camping holidays with dogs on the respective camping website. Sometimes there are size or weight restrictions or other booking rules for camping with dogs. If in doubt, please contact the campsite by email or phone before booking. In any case, we wish you and your beloved pet a wonderful holiday!
